First I want to thank Ellie and Jeremy for co-hosting today. This one was a lot of fun to put together.
I'll admit I lean more toward Horror, so the quotes for that genre outnumber my SciFi quotes six to four. At least I think they do. One of these could be considered both. Can you guess which one?
My quotes in no particular order...

1. "They're coming for you, Barbara." Although I hadn't been born when it came out, Night Of The Living Dead is my favorite classic horror movie. Not only are there zombies, but it has one of the best endings ever.

2. "I'll be back." A very buff Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Biehn - both naked. Need I say more?

3. "Jesus wept." Okay, nothing Oscar worthy here, but Pinhead was a masterpiece.

| The Empire Strikes Back ~ 1980 |
4. "Do or do not. There is no try." Who doesn't love Yoda speak? I remember sneaking my tape recorder into the theater and capturing the whole movie on cassette. Then I went home, copied the script word for word on paper and recreated a recording of the whole movie playing all the parts myself and using my Atari for the sound effects. I still have it.

7. "Whatever you do, don't fall asleep." Freddy Krueger scared the crap out of me, I'll admit it. I thought about him lying in bed at night a helluva lot more than I thought about my boyfriend.

8. "Get away from her, you bitch!" Ah, Ripley. A badass chic with a heart of gold. Oh, and Michael Biehn again, but sadly, not naked.

9. "Never give up, never surrender." My kids and I love Galaxy Quest, and this quote by Commander Taggert is my mantra to this day.

10. "What's your favorite scary movie?" Scream revived the horror genre in my opinion. Creepy, smart and fun.

Totally agree with you on Scream - I love that movie! So clever. That Jaws quote almost made my list - that show scarred me for life. The ocean still freaks me out. And I've seen a lot of Galaxy Quest (ok, well you're the 3rd, still...). Thanks for sharing!
You and I matched on one and I think it might be on several lists since it's such a classic line. You listed some great memorable lines here. I strongly considered a line from a Freddy movie but didn't. My list will be up by Sunday morning.

I love that you shared tape recording the Empire Strikes Back and acting it out yourself! I certainly watched it enough times that I could have! It's my fav of the three, too.
Oh and I just have to add That I agree with you about Michael Biehn too - both naked and clothed. Whatever happened to him?

I always closed my eyes when those guys were naked, but that's just me! Lol! I forgot about Hellraiser. I love the quote when he tells the girl that her "suffering will be legendary, even in Hell!"

Love some of the one you've listed. I've seen 'Jaws' on several of the blog listings, and it such a duh. Great movie. Scared the crap out of me when I saw in the theater.
My oldest son saw Galaxy Quest and told us he was disappointed in it. O_o We saw it with our younger sons and we were all roaring with laughter.
You listed quotes from many of my favourite Sci-fi movies. I didn't quote from horror: I have my eyes closed and my fingers in my ears when the horror-fests movies are on. ;)
Great list! Isn't Pinhead a great character though? Love the Yoda quote - I beleive you can get a TomTom incar GPS in Yoda's voice - 'Turn right or turn right not.' haha!
You could have 10 quotes just from Star Wars. Of all those movies the only one I haven't seen all the way through is Jaws.
I love these, I just recently saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time. I like how old zombie movies are more about human nature than gore.

Great list! My favorite's less quote and more sound effect... the "reh, reh, reh" from the shower scene in Psycho :)
Years later I realize how cheesy Jaws looks, but I still have shark nightmares to this day.
