I Am A Saboteur

Yesterday I convinced myself that certain things I'd been putting off for months needed to be done immediately because if they weren't, the whole world would stop rotating, or worse, I would be the cause of the zombie apocalypse (I realize Halloween is over, but zombies are "in" any time of the year. Have you seen the new AMC series "The Walking Dead"? LOVE).

I did all of these things, that if I'm being honest didn't need to be done or else I would have done them like a year ago, because I'm woefully behind in my pursuit of the coveted NaNoWriMo winner's badge and didn't want to face the fact that I should be writing.

So for those of you cleaning out that thing no one ever sees anyway, or repainting that room because you can't get that stain off of the wall, I wanted to give you a bit of inspiration.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

It would be difficult to follow that with anything. Thank you, I was truly in need of inspiration :)

Love that quote!

Fantastic quote. I've just written something similar about distraction on my blog - in fact I'm still procrastinating now :o)

I can't beat that but thank you for this pick me up.

I love that Marianne Williamson quote. We think we are afraid of failure, but really we're afraid of success.

teehee--I would SO rather be writing than anything else. Always. My family hates it because I regularly ignore them. My NaNoWriMo obstacles have been kid obligations (+ a couple fun kid things--like watching all the Harry Potter movies to prep for tomorrow)--there is some money stress that blocked me for a few days... or rather the drinking to forget the money stress blocked me for a few days *shifty* but mostly I WISH I WAS WRITING! (damn day job)

So glad you all enjoyed the quote. It is a powerful message, isn't it?

Hart, I'm so excited about Harry Potter I can't even put it into words. We will be seeing this weekend for sure.

Oh, I am a master at employing my Advanced Procrastinating Techniques! A spotless house and complicated dinner almost never bodes well for my writing. Husband knows how my writing is going within the first 5 seconds of walking in the door...if he smells cleanser or a fancy dinner, he knows I've hit a plot snag and/or am avoiding revisions.

I love the Walking Dead...except his cheating wife and best friend are douches. ;)

Now, get back to your writing. You CAN do this! It's not too late.

Love,
Lola

So you were preparing for the zombie apocalypse? That's probably a good idea, though I figure I'd always be one of the first ones eaten because I'm no good at running.

Man, I needed to read this today. Truly. You have no idea. Thank you.

Now get to work on that NaNo, missie! <3

I absolutely LOVE Marianne Williamson! One of my favorites from her is, "Relax into things EXACTLY as they are." :-)

Oh gosh I wasn't expecting a scary picture, kids are in bed, hubby is out. Will I make it up the stairs, aargh! Those eyes are creepy. Thought I'd pop over and say hello. I'll brace myself better next time :)
