Wait, What's A Thesis Statement?

I would normally post tonight, it being Wednesday and all, but I am tied up with shrews. The northern short-tailed shrew to be exact, as my daughter failed to tell me she needed help with her research paper due Friday morning. Did I mention she hasn't started yet?

It's been a while since I had to write a research paper and I'm struggling just a little bit (a lot, actually). So I will be back on Friday with a hopefully wonderful post about my writing journey.  I would like to leave you with a picture of the subject of this research paper:
Oh sure, he's cute now. But I see nightmares about a giant version in my near future.
What's the last thing that yanked you away from your normal blogging or writing schedule?

Shrews seem like a pretty good reason to get pulled away from your writing.

The last time I was pulled away ... was of my own doing. Last week I wanted to get started on edits since it was my vacation. But relaxing pulled me a way. I just couldn't shut off the TV or get out of bed. I think I needed it though.

Hope you tame it. Oh, ouch, terrible joke, don't hurt me.

Lots of travel for work is getting between me and writing at the moment -- buying a netbook on the weekend, which will fit in my handbag and go everwhere. I will prevail!

Quinn, I wouldn't feel bad about relaxing or watching TV. Sometimes everyone needs to de-stress.

Amie, LOL. Hope the netbook solves the problem for you.

I'm supposed to be starting a research paper. The outline is due today. Aw... those awful school papers. Good luck I hope you get yours done quickly. =)

Ahhhh love the silly little shrew!

My endless packing for my move (less than two weeks) has seriously hindered both my blogging and writing schedule.

Honestly? I feel like I've taken on too much by having stated that I would blog every Monday and Wednesday. I get so frantic about what to blog about that I end up not blogging at all! I was supposed to do a Iceland Reports yesterday, but I didn't do it. And I didn't do it today either >.<

Maybe I should just go back to "I'll blog whenever I blog..."

You could probably buy a paper online for relatively cheap...

hello, stopping by from Carolyn's blog. We both share an award. Love your blog! Great stuff here! Good to meet you.

Carolyn, we've about got it done. Thanks for the encouragement.

Melissa, moving is not something I envy you. I haven't had to do it too often, but it's always such a headache!

Tessa, you know? I feel exactly like that sometimes, but I'm learning that fun little posts like these are just as likely to get people talking than the more serious "writerly" posts.

RM, Why didn't I think of that!

Terry, thanks so much for stopping by. I can't believe I've missed yours, but problem solved now. Congrats on the new book. SO excited for you!

Oooh the shrew is just TOO CUTE. I want to hug him and squeeze him and call him George...

My MA thesis. Didn't just eat up my writing time, but sleeping time and all other kinds of times! ;)

You know it is kinda cute...for a shrew.

:-)

Faith, LOL. I love that.

Marieke, congrats on the MA!

Adina, yeah they are kinda cute until you learn more about them. Did you know they chew venom into their prey while it's still alive? Creepy.

Aww. He's kinda cute.

Oh dear - enjoy your shrew research! The last thing that took me away from writing is my day-job - it interferes with everything! Oh, came by via Carolyn V's lovely blog. :)

It doesn't take much to pull me away. A shrew would definitely do it, if I saw that thing in my garden.

Lisa, I love the shrew. It's so cute and not at all like the poisonous ones my dad always warned me about when I was growing up. This one I could almost pet. What a fun post. :)

Jessica, yeah, I'm kinda sick of him now.

Jayne, thanks so much for stopping by. Nice to "meet" you.

Karen, I definitely wouldn't want one of these guys on the property.

Leisha, thanks for the compliment and for stopping by.
